I'm not reassured by these news at all. At least two stores are closing and who's to say that the folks at Jo-Ann Fabrics will stop at two? Why not five, or ten more closings? Very worrying news.
I think liquidation sales have started already but the closings will happen on January 22. It has been confirmed that the Jo-Ann store in Bridgeport, WV will close on January 22. I think it's located in Meadowbrook Mall.
Another location that has been revealed to be closing is the Jo-Ann in Keene, NH in West Street Shopping Center. There has been no information on the precise date of the closing but the employees of that store said their lease will expire in January 2023 so we can expect the Keene store to close around the same time as the Bridgeport store.
Did I miss any other stores that are closing? I just hope there won't be any more planned closings for 2023. I'm just praying that Jo-Ann isn't in some financial troubles that we don't know about yet. I don't want to hear about a bankruptcy or anything terrible like that.
